Self-injury is a common behavior in our society. Only a few forms are seen as problematic. Shame often thwarts an open exchange about experiences. "Hurting yourself" is a workbook that aims at encouraging reflection and generating awareness of various different aspects of self-injury from a non-coercive, self-compassionate, and harm reduction perspective.

Includes info on mood stabilizers, anti-psychotics, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs, risks, benefits, wellness tools, withdrawal, detailed Resource section, information for people staying on their medications, and much more. A 'harm reduction' approach means not being pro- or anti-medication, but supporting people to make their own decisions balancing the risks and benefits involved. Written by Will Hall, with a 14-member health professional Advisory board providing research assistance and 24 other collaborators involved in developing and editing. The guide has photographs and art throughout, and a beautiful original cover painting by Ashley McNamara. Der 40-seitige Leitfaden des Icarus Projects und des Freedom Centers sammelt the besten Informationen, die wir gefunden haben und die wichtigsten Lehren über das Reduzieren und Absetzen von Psychopharmaka inklusive Informationen über Mood Stabilizern, anti-psychotische Arzneimittel, Anti-Depressiva, Beruhigungsmittel, die damit verbundenen Gefahren als auch Nutzen, Wege zum Wohlbefinden, Psychopharmaka-Entzug, Informationen für Leute, die ihre Medikamente weiterhin nehmen wollen, einen ausführlichen Abschnitt von Hilfsquellen und vieles mehr. Dieser Leitfaden wurde von Will Hall geschrieben mit der Hilfe eines Gesundheits-Experten Beirates von 18 Mitgliedern, die die Recherchen bereitstellten, und 24 andere Mitarbeiter waren bei der Her-und Zusammenstellung beteiligt.
