Staff Call Notes July 11, 2007

Drug Guide
    Everyone is very excited by the new version and we're all onboard to promote the hell out of it.
    Will looked at the harm reduction language for folks who are going to stay on psych drugs, and was into it.
    Designer for Contemplative Mind in Society is down to do the design for $300.
    As far as adding quotes: feels less necessary now. Sascha kind of likes the idea of adding quotes on the back cover, Madigan suggests some community review quotes in the front...
    Housing and health care are human rights for all people.
    Ashley will review it on the train and get back thorough comments. Ashley will design cover, probably something with a labyrinth

Mission Statement Brochure
    Sarah is making changes. Hopefully will be done in a week. Text is provisional newest version of mission statement text. (Ashley needs to email Sarah the most recent body text change. has already emailed design changes.)

Tour Postponement – to be discussed at collective call this Sunday. mad pride week instead. but Sascha will do some wee midwest college tour for that week or something.

    Scott has been given green light to transfer the whole site over to MayFirst, our new rad host. Old hosting company will be kept for a month in case there are problems with MayFirst. Drama of the contact database may be resolved – MayFirst has put up a demo database that seems to do what we want it to do. fields have to be tinkered around with. We can log in and check it out. Staff should touch base about what are the necessary fields to include.  Ashley will e-mail the funder database in.

Fundraising/Office Role for Alicia expanding in the Fall? Madigan will get in touch with her? Propose that Alicia join us at the call on August 15th. Fundraising brainstorming meeting in August.

Scheduling:
Madigan returns from Chiapas: August 3rd. First staff call Madigan could be available for would be August 8th.
Will returns from Chiapas: August 8th. Back in action the 9th or 10th.
Ashley, Mads, and Will will meet up in NYC on the 9th. There will be a staff call on 3 pm EST August 9th.

Events:
Mindfreedom Conference starts tomorrow. Madigan and Will will be going.
Ashley going up to Buffalo for 2 events. (intro to radical mental health with advocates and speaking at mental health empowerment rally)
July 14th: International Madpride/Liberation Day. Madigan made announcement to collective list. We should post it up on Icarus forums on the 14th.
July 18th: Ani Difranco concert.
July 29th: Freedom Center will be doing a bedpush coordinated with Toronto.
