Disclaimer: I am no expert, this is just my oppinion, experience, and what I have heard a lot regarding nutrition.

As I'm sure everybody is well aware, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Pretty much, if you get a good portion of your daily nourishment in the morning, your body has the rest of the day to process all of that in a steady way. Following a hearty breakfast with small incremental meals throughout the day will boost your already active metabolism, and your body can digest food healthier and you will get the most out of what you eat.

If your body is "started" around the time you wake up, then you will not have to worry about eating as much throughout the day, and can remain active without feeling like you need to go to a buffet afterwards. As much as I'd like to pull out a bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo regarding the subject, it's a pretty well known fact, and frankly I dont have any of that information. Instead of throwing a bunch of food into your body at several periods throughout the day and clogging up your digestive system with a lot of mass, just give it a good amount of fuel when it's just firing up, then keep it moderately sustained throughout the day. It will give you energy throughout, and not leaving you craving as much.

This is obviously not the rule, because if you are really active you'll want to have a good meal a little later in the day to supplement how much calories you're losing. But for the most part, this is a good approach to eating I think. It will keep your weight down, and I believe it will help stabilize your mind and give a better approach to the day. Eating late is not neccesarilly bad for you, but it is definately not good. Think about it, if you eat steak or chicken w/ rice or mashed potatoes or something before you go to bed (Just examples, it can be anything really. Fast food is worst.) you are essentially just causing yourself bad sleep. Your body will not be doing the best job it can do to digest the food while you are trying to turn your body off to rest. If you've ever noticed that when you eat before bed you dream more or have nightmares? It's because your body is restless and trying to digest and rest at the same time. I just don't see it as congruent to a healthy schedule.

Anyways, I feel this has gone on long enough for now. This is quite obviously a blog on nutrition, so I would encourage anyone with anymore knowledge on healthy nutritional stuff please feel free to leave a comment. Like I said at the top I'm no expert, but I think this is pretty accurate from what I've seen. Also feel free to combat me if what I posted is completely wrong!

P.S. I'm eating bananas : )
