Chiaroscuro has been working with Will on his essay and been in touch with Antisocialite on graphics/images stuff. She also has cut and pasted the medication side effect haikus in the Found Treasures wiki.  If there are other medication haikus she hasn't included that you think should be included in the zine please voice your opinion now! and cut and paste them into the wiki!

Sandpiper has been lost somewhere in the fabric of space and time.  She still needs to check in with Catmind to see how the editing is going and she still needs to post the notes from the last call on 12/27.

What is is Needed Now

To make a mock up of the zine we need to have everthing that is going to go into the zine. All text, graphics, artwork, etc. Specifically we need...

  • The edited essays from Catmind
  • Will's shortened essay
  • The Introduction/Welcome/Resource Page

We also need to...

  • Choose Front Cover Artwork and decide if we want it to be wrap around or not
  • Choose Images/Graphics/Artwork to go with the written pieces and to be used as filler
  • Choose the graffiti art we like from the Writing on the Wall forums thread.
  • Decide what we want to do with the quotes.
  • Look at Medication Side Effect Haikus and add any others to the wiki page we feel should be included.
  • Name the Zine

Artwork for the cover that was already suggested includes The Art of Vincent and Antisocialite's Hands. Chiaroscuro also suggested Nightbloom's Medication Blues as a wrap around art cover. Discussed using Sweetmadness' Evolution painting, but then decided it probably wouldn't look good in black and white. When we decide on cover art we need to think about how the chosen images will look in black and white and if they lend themselves well to having text (title of the zine, etc) over them.  Does anyone else have an idea for the cover art or an opinion about the artwork already suggested?

In terms of images, graphics and artwork to go with the written work or to use as fillers we discussed the need keep in mind how these images would fit in with the layout, how they would look in black and white and if they would look good as the background to a written piece.  Images can be used as background or used on the same page with one of the essays, poems, etc. Voice your opinion on what images you like and what you think they should go with and why!

Same thing for the graffiti art photos from the Writing on the Wall forums thread.  Cry was one of the suggested graffiti art photos. What other photos do y'all like and what do you think they would go with/where should we put them in the zine?

For quotes we had talked last time about sprinkling them throughout the zine as filler or making a page of quotes. Chiaroscuro had another idea. What about running a bar on the bottom of each page with a quote? What do y'all think? What do we want to do with the quotes?

Approximately two pages are left after we include Will's essay, the introduction/welcome/resource page and all the material from the short list. For the last two pages, the suggestion came up to write up a little something about Mad Maps and maybe include a sample of a mad map or part of a Mad Map. This could be something useful and informative to include. I agreed to see if I could write something up about Mad Map making or find something already written up and look for a sample map to include. What do y'all think about this suggestion?

And does anyone have any strong opinions about the medication haikus that should go into the zine? Are there other medication haikus that were not included in the Found Treasures wiki that you think should be included?

Ideas for Zine names?

Everyone's homework is to voice your opinions and ideas on the above! Thanks!
