1. Long-term financial strategy: Ittleson Foundation and other grants -- helps us shape longterm goals

2. Short-term financial strategy: USSF plea and website redesign plea

3. Immediate discussion: stipends and cash-flow depletion  

                      - volunteer structure: temporary? full-time?

 

FINANCIAL BREAKDOWN:

 

$2700/month overhead - stipends + rent + salsa

+ misc. costs (website maintenance, etc.)

 

$12,000 left in account

 

Primary financial needs: stipends, USSF, website - how much do we need for these? which is the single top priority?

 

Strategies to implement ASAP: more conference call meetings (not just for checking in/envisioning/brainstorming, but to bring concrete ideas and resources to!), video conferencing

 

PRIORITIES AND GOALS AND MEETINGS -

 

Angel - make more focused meetings on the calls - specific focus meetings 

 

eric - same time every other week? 90 min calls? 

 

will - web design meeting -- eric and will set, with nick and jonah, astra - eric and will to connect about that

 

angel - USSF high priority

 

this month - regular times but start 90 minutes

 

April start alternating meetings

 

Angel - interesting that finances didn't make it onto goals sort of treating it separately, confused how it fits in

 

Mads - long time issue with icarus, no one likes to deal with money

 

angel - house would be $12-1400, or thousand dollars

Angel - budget - house, transport, plus subsidizing other members

 

eric - problematic to fund our travel and tell people to get there on their own?

 

madigan -- coord collective is like a local group, does its own fundraising

 

will - it's similar to local groups but different too bc coords raise $ for icarus as whole, 

 

will - yes difficult to subsidize some and not others. Maybe do partial subsidies?

 

angel - grants for short term - will look for possibilities. if not - fundraiser, grassroots efforts - 

 

eric - don't want to put all our time via coord meets - workshop - who is doing it - approaching other organizations to co-sponsor? organizing <-> wellness

 

eric - good discussion for larger ussf coordinating group to address fundraising for travel. being transparent about it. thinking about decision not just coordinators. should be larger ussf planning committee subsidies based on need, responsibilities, 

 

bay area fundraising to send 1-2 people to use
