Fundraising Focused Collective Call 2/11/09

*Need to do personal outreach to individuals to join fundraising committee.

Fountain House Remodeling/Office Space Update:
Renovation is underway. 
Alen moving in 1 wk/development 2wks. 
Projection that Icarus has a month in current space. 
Michael informally spoke w/Ken.
There is potential for obtaining an area in a unit, like previous arrangement.
Could help with relations/TIP presence at FH.
Plea for space could fold into proposal for renewing relationship w/FH.
*Michael Proposal:  Flush out intention/proposal by 3/1 and schedule meeting with Alen, Ken, Elliot--Michael, Mimi, Angel, Nick?, Casey, NYC Icarus local interested in collaborating w/FH.
Remodel is huge undertaking/projected to last 1 yr. 
Unsure if it would temp/perm displace TIP office.

Who else should be included in fundraising discussion/on committee? 
Anita/Sascha's mom offered to have discussion about fundraising/development. 
*Michael will connect with her/see Sascha emails from late 11/08 on topic.  
Network at upcoming fundraising workshop in NYC.  *Mimi will send registration.
Encourage people who can either consult and/or sit on committee to help make development and fundraising plan. 
With tangible tasks mobilize community volunteers. 

Lots of talk about technical issues related to fundraising/banking/fiscal sponsor. 
Main issues:  Not being able to easily capture data when people give & % fees taken through web services and FJC. 
Nick suggested google check out as best option for no processing fees for first year and low fees afterward. 
Unclear if current set up with JustGive and FJC means processing fees for both orgs?
Nick sent comprehensive email on options for web/storefront $.  
*Explain current issues to FJC and seek support/options. 

Bank account is set up but paperwork is in limbo.  *Find out where we're at with this.  

Angel idea:  Set up Etsy store for Icarus craftspeople/artists to donate work and consolidate donations to TIP.  *Angel is learning how Etsy is set up.

Carry fundraising topic over into next weeks collective call 2/18/09 3pm (est).
