TRANSITION TEAM - 20 min

**madigan proposal** -- turn transition team into work group - empower other people. kieran and molly in particular to set precedent to look at budget, needs of icarus. manage tiniest we can do in 5 hrs/week. take leadership of few people not will sascha madigan.

each of 3 owls goes 5 hrs week paid beginning may -- 20hrs / mo $300/mo

    responsibility to community

sascha -- need to involve more people, incl people not paid, e.g. xenobai so if we are paying people, that's sustainable way -- pay a volunteer coordinator

molly -- incrementally include people. not a free for all, not too many people, too many voices, never do anything with the information. come back to human pace, acknowledge people already doing work, include in structures already in place, e.g. have mimi on call, have empties on call. more intentionally use monthly conference call in an intentional way. naturally build up broader involvement

will - this all sounds great. how would the decision making work on this?

molly - easier to seed a transition with a pair of people partnering, look at step by step. First being the budget. Bring back to the current owls -- mad moll will sasch. Other parts of this would open up to volunteer work groups

first thing is to really look at the budget, main bones that need to be built with, bring back to the owl collective to consent on

sasch - include more voices, also have a timeline.  awesome to write a grant to talk about process of restructuring and women's encuentro, how we're working on creating alternative models. can think of people wihth $ who would be interested in fundign something like that. community involvement more important, but funding is an important part of sustainability. would be cool to get $ to do

molly -- development grant, fundable thing. another part of foundational work is to look at a  buget. icarus doesn't have a budget. talking about fundable things -- overhauling website is fundable, ambiguous things not fundable. start small where we go. slowly include more people. Hard to say a timeline; ongoing process. more fluid process of natural evolution. not a violent change.

madigan -- feel confident, next step to have molly, kieran talk, what their interest and needs are taking on that role. make will sascha madigan part of bare bones housekeeping stuff in a literal way. sascha work on fundraising development funds for project. not just bring it to the owls but to all stakeholders. in immediate we have responsibility to mimi, empties, scott, jessie, other people. use once a month calls.

will -- i do a lot of menial work not seen in the organization: paperwork, web work, fill in for people, backing people up, feeling invisible.

molly -- i see you and appreciate -- look at partnering; create tag teaming, so we know what people are doing. important

madigan -- feel good about work being broken down. art show in nyc?

sascha - important to involve others.

molly -- be aware of how people have and do step up all the time. how they are not acknowledged, don't see important role that they have

madigan -- where is thread

molly -- it's in envisioning icarus.

molly -- this is where i envisioned myself being in org -- not regular owl. want to be accountable to team but don't envision doing both: If we decide to go with 2 people as transit or group of people i want to not be a paid owl, but paid to be in transition team

sascha - i'm in transition role, need more voices in the mix

madigan -- give molly resources and space needed to lead team. Take april to do that -- my may first will sasch madigan in diff roles.

will -- what is decision making structure

madigan -- owls support molly and kieran making decisions

molly -- want to avoid diff sides wanting to give away responsibility. it's an incremental thing.

will-- for example about the confidentiality policy

molly -- get empties on the next week phone call to discuss

mads - invite others to conf call?

molly -- make it more incremental; start with empties next week

agree to send invitation to discuss possibilities with kieran from all 4 owls; will draft some language for this. madigan to initiate contact.
