Fundraising question - How doing a fundraising call ties into reaching out to our major donors? Is now a good time for Annie to introduce herself and asking for further support. Is it ok in conjunction with our membership based appeal? Maybe collaborating with Madigan? Madigan has said she'll step up in that capacity. Will can also help with crafting the contact letters. Annie's met with Anita (Sascha's mom) and is meeting again on Monday.

Important to do end-of-year fundraising drive before smallpox-on-blankets-day (aka thanksgiving). Also wrapping in volunteer requests? Molly is very aware of being the only collective member who is embedded in the web community. Creating the commonality around volunteering. If you can't give, give in volunteer time.

Annie met with Clare. Clare supports the Salsa idea, and with thinking about ways to get Local NYC Icaristas in the $50,000 in ?? Fundraising Campaign. There's a feeling of disconnect between the local groups and the collective. Everyone should be able to participate in the database.

The database convo ties into everything else we're doing. With the loss of the admin/distro position and loss of support network position. There's no continuity of information, when was a funder last contacted, who's the group leader in Oklahoma, etc. The answers are not centralized and most people can't access the information.

We might be getting ourselves into a long-term process with database overhaul. Intermediate solutions could be spreadsheets (Funding, Local Activists, etc.). Google shared, attachment to a OG? Instead of gatekeeping the info in our heads, binders, etc.

As far as being able to afford a system like Salsa. Trying to get back to a budget for an admin position, or a support position. It would be good to see that money that's not going to Mimi going to Salsa and the money that's not going to Molly going to seed grants. Salsa is like having another staff member.

There's a financial oversight that happens being under the FJC umbrella. If distro never hit FJC and went straight to the bank account for postage, materials, etc. It would also take the pressure of the distro. Let distro and funding be separate.

Talk about sustaining vs. promising to do more on the request for funding.

Proposal of email amnesty day. Send email to everyone who emailed you: apologize, ask for a new email if it's necessary and DELETE the whole damn box.

We need to find a time for database specific call. Evening/weekend would work best so that Jonah can join. Goal is to draft proposal for consensus during this call.
