Madness Radio
Submitted by Icarus Project on Wed, 11/09/2005 - 1:53amIcarus and Freedom Center co-sponsor a radio show hosted by Will Hall on all things madness-related, syndicated through the Pacifica community radio network and broadcast on WXOJ-LPFM in Northampton Massachusetts, KBOO in Oregon, KWMD in Anchorage Alaska, as well as podcasting and on iTunes. Guests range from author Kate Bornstein and Adbusters publisher Kalle Lasn to Freedom Center and Icarus Project members and anyone who has been through extreme states of madness, advocates, authors, and scientists. Ask your local station to broadcast the show! Check it out at www.madnessradio.net; archives and podcast available.
And we need your help! Send show ideas and audio clips to radio AT madnessradio.net, and contact your local college or community station and ask to broadcast the show. Also leave Comments on the show site and you can leave a Customer Review on iTunes.
Reading other people's comments...
Here's something funny about reading the comments on this thread, while feeling super bipolar - the weird tags at the end of each comment! Like links to bridal gowns, rhinoplasty, and the one I especially liked - the end of the world/mayan calendar links. Thanks guys (or internet wizards), because the last thing I need to be reminded of when I'm feeling manic is that the world might be ending. What's up with that? Is it just spam, or will this comment invariably have a link at the end of it for "penis reduction pills" or "JFK conspiracy websites"? I can't wait to find out...
Also, requiring prospective community members to fill out a captcha, asking "which of these doesn't belong?" is kind of insensitive. I get it, you don't want robots fucking everything up, but sometimes it's really possible that "chimpanzee, cockroach and couch" go together, and dog should be left out. Just sayin'!
You guys rock, by the way. I want to contribute/have a radio show/start a campus chapter, all at the same time. And send your books to everyone I know.
Thanks!

It's a good initiation to
It's a good initiation to create awareness among the public about madness through media. As the program is related to mental health, listeners will be benefited. Listeners can know about the causes and cure of mental illness. The program should not only focus patient who is suffering from the illness but also should focus to the sane listeners, so that they can be aware.
