I was labeled with a form of schizophrenia called schizoaffective disorder (schizophrenia + bipolar) because I feel and see too much. During a 6 month stay in a psych halfway house in 1999 I made a series of drawings preoccupied with images of monsters, puppets, and confinement. Today I am a community organizer with the Freedom Center, an activism and support group in Northampton MA working to replace corporate psychiatry with mutual aid, self-determination, and holistic health choices. I also recently joined the national collective of the Icarus Project.
