Rough Draft of Song in Which Mina Wrote the Words and I Wrote the Music Here
Submitted by popejoan2 on Thu, 01/18/2007 - 11:15amWell I hope this link works. Here is the song that seems to be a blues for Gaia. Mina here wrote the words. It came out of her wonderful zine. It inspired me to write a song out of it. I can't download the same mp3 or I was afraid it would mess something up, so let me know if the song plays alright. I have tried to upload it with my songs at soundclick but it is not working there, as it plays too fast. I am not sure why. So I hope this one from a file host site is ok.
Ok so here it is: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/1/17/654104/Gaia.mp3
Please let me know if it even works. I have been up all night trying to convert Aud files to Wav files then to mp3. Aye yi yi.
I also recorded. I was busy for me. This is very rough and will be very different when the two Erics in Boson add a lot of instrumentation. I just play and sing here and I am not very good on my own...but oh well. peace, Nancy
Ah just in...here are Mina's wonderful lyrics: there are music notes in your hands and a song in your voice that you belt out while lying in the grass staring up at the trees Ch: They are trying to sing with you but their voices are too high and it hurts your ears So you pick up a leaf and stare at the veins to drown out the noise that threatens to make you bleed-- Ch: I can hear you please tone it down the tense of "who" I am changes with each parallel world I speak through while conversing with trees-- so the next night when the moon comes up her silver rays boil my blood Ch: You take off again to Charon to meet Pluto for a love affair There is an attempt to push your spirit back into your body so please please go to sleep--- Ch: As high in the sky you were days ago gone going to crash land No more late night walks and talks with strangers no more mad phone calls about things you can't remember Ch: No more heart wrench sobbng with the realization that Gaia is dying there are music notes in your hands and a song in your voice that you belt out while lying in the grass staring up at the trees | |
