cast of characters

before i do more blogging, i guess i ought to post a "cast of characters" post, so folks can figure out who i'm talking about. i'll keep editing and adding names as i think of them or as they appear in the blog.

ashtree - a newish friend...we were acquaintances before she left town 3 years ago, and now she's back, with an adorable baby (guthrie), and is in a new relationship with ben.
bee - a new friend, partner of lane, and one of my downstairs neighbors.
ben - one of my sweeties, the one i'm spending most of my partner-time with these days. he's currently living with me, but it's temporary.
the brain - my younger son, who lives with the kids' father and the kids' stepmother 2000 miles away from me.
cheers - a local bar with live music every night of the year. many of my friends and sweeties work there and/or play music there, and nearly all of the rest of my friends and sweeties go there anywhere from occasionally to nightly. it's my 'cheers' because everybody knows my name and it feels like 'home'.
cricket - ben's former primary partner, also a former occasional lover of mine...our relationship is rocky.
dj - a friend and coworker who is also an amazing dj.
eve - a good friend, she has been in relationships with several of my friends and sweeties, including sparky, ron, and ben.
gardengrrl - a very dear friend, former primary partner of gorilla.
goatfish - a sweetie i only see a few times a year...also, sparky's & ron's brother.
gorilla - a former roommate and platonic sweetie of mine who recently moved a few hours away to go to law school. also, former primary parter of gardengrrl and former sweetie of greenwitch.
greenwitch - a former roommate and my 'gay boyfriend'. former sweetie of gorilla.
guthrie - ashtree's toddler son.
jaundice - a very good friend of mine, an artist and a physicist and a musician...if music+science=sexy, art+music+science=the sexiest. :)
jazlyn - a friend and once-upon-a-time lover, bellydancer.
the kids' father - my ex, who finally won custody of pinky and the brain last year and is still being a jerk.
the kids' stepmother - my ex's wife, my kids' new mom.
lane - a good friend, partner of bee, former sweetie of greenwitch, one of my downstairs neighbors.
mama - the female half of the couple who own the health food store & cafe where i work. a dear friend, and o'rly's mother.
musicman - one of my downstairs neighbors and a very good friend.
o'rly - the toddler son of mama & papa.
papa - the male half of the couple who own the health food store & cafe where i work. a dear friend, and o'rly's father.
pinky - my teenaged son, who lives with the kids' father and the kids' stepmother 2000 miles away from me.
the poet - one of my sweeties, a poet and also a bartender at cheers.
the professor - a new friend who lives in my neighborhood and is a professor at the university.
ron - a good friend, sparky & goatfish's brother.
ropesguy - one of my sweeties, a well-known local dominant & former leather titleholder.
sparky - a friend and coworker. also, ron's & goatfish's brother.
tomcat - a good friend and cuddle-buddy of mine and ben's, and a possible future sweetie of mine and ashtree's. and i think ben has a crush on him too ;)
