He's like a rainbow
Submitted by ulivillwait on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 8:54pmThe dream began with me watching a Pacific Islander ceremony. An old man went about building a small smoldering fire. He sprinkled onion shaped roots into it, and covered them with palm fronds. Next, several attendants went about surrounding the fire with the pieces of a sectional couch. The couch surrounded the smoky mound in a horseshoe shape. He then covered the whole scene with a big blanket. People had lined up to take part in the ceremony. Two of them were Keith Richards and his female companion.
He was quite excited about what came next. The people would climb under the blanket, and on their hands and knees, make their way along the soft cushions of the couch, coming out the other end. The result of this excerise was that it got you very high. When it was Keith's turn, he gleefully entered one end, with his friend close behind them. They made their way, as two lumps under a blanket would, and came out. "Again?" He asked, his hair a mess, his eyes showing how high he had just become. The man nodded, and he went again. This time, about halfway around, he feigned, "I'm stuck!" Everyone knew he was faking it. When he emerged the second time, almost unable to stand, he bravely looked to his host one more time. "Again?" The man nodded.
At the end of the third go-round, they emerged, painted in soot, entirely happy. "How much?", he asked.
"$18,000." said the man.
"Pay him." Keith replied, and the woman dug for the money in her pocket.
When the next person emerged from their trip around the circle, he too asked the man, "How much."
The man, not missing a beat, says, "$48.00".
