The Universe

I have a personal relationship with the universe

I swim in it feeds me, it is my closest friend

Around midnight when we are alone, we chat

Life is good, second cousin to the moon.

I rotate and explode at the speed of sound.

It gathers up my particles and creates anew

I drink from It’s cup, it saves me. Bathe in the spirit

Towel off in the warmth of the sun, swing from the rays

They spin in roulette and I sit on the shelf.

Perch and listen, as the morning blows in gently

The song of the birds welcome me like angels.

Faith in all there is, all there is, without me

Would be a lapse. Fulfilling a purpose, perchance

And as I dance through the day, swimming in It’s charms

I know I need not fear, though my sensitivity

Sometimes holds me so close I suffocate. The universe

And I are one, and with all of you we save the world

With echoes of love sent out in space, humble taking pictures

And listening for the whispers of immortality

Wherein heaven is now. Hell was then ice. Storms once

Lightning sent in bolts, thunder applauds me. An early

To mid-life I live and write the verse that it sends me, one within

Everything, swimming in it, separating the sour from the cream

And sup from the cup that fulfills me, perhaps taking a chance

In faith it saves me, makes me whole, I rest under the blanket of stars

And sleep with the knowledge of nothing. When there is everything.

Everything we are and all of us set with the sun in brilliance.

Fall into the sea sizzle and melt into all that is special, as we.

Ripple into and through as water, are carried in the wind

And are washed up on the shore and rest in all that is nothing.
