a subject to weigh you down
Submitted by RiverWinds on Wed, 03/21/2007 - 9:46amA few weeks ago, at gymnastics (in case anyone actually reads this for some insane reason, I'm a coach for Special Olympic rhythmic gymnastics), my athlete and I were starting our strength workout. Abs. So, Tami isn't exactly what one would call thin, and she seems to be more self-conscious about it that she lets on. She was having problems with some of the exercises, and started complaining about how she has a slow matabolism, which meant that she couldn't lose weight even if she wanted to, no matter how much she kept "active" (her definition of "active" seems to be much different than mine, and most others') and ate good, healthy food, and the like.
So she was complaining, adn she blamed her slow matabolism on the medication that she's on. She has seizures, so they give her anti-convulsants. So she patted her belly, as if to say "look at this fat" and said "lamictal," implying that it was cause of her inability to lose weight.
My reaction: "Bah - wha?"
The very-nice-man-who-gives-me-pills told me when he was giving me my prescription that lamictal is often prescribed to teenage girls because it won't make you gain weight.
I'm on lamictal. So is my athlete. And she is full of such shit. It's just so funny and I had to share....!
