Responding to Comments
In order to make it a little easier to navigate through the tangle of posts on any given thread, we’ve built in a little option that allows you to “nest” your comments — which basically means you can indicate exactly which post you’re responding to (was it the first post on the thread, or a subsequent post), and whether your post is a question or an answer, and then this information allows your post to be displayed in a way so that it’s easier to find.
Formatting Your Comments
If you want to use special formatting in your comments, like making text bold or making it italic, you will find instructions at the bottom of each posting form in a little box that says “How to Format Your Post.” If you want to preview what your text looks like after you apply these formatting codes, click the button that says “Turn Preview On” and your formatted text will display below. If you want to include an image with your comment, you can reference the url where the image is saved on another website. You cannot upload images onto our server. If you post porn we will kick you off The Icarus Project and ban your computer’s I.P. address. Don’t do it.
