Dear Friends, Family, and Community -

As the end of the year draws near, I’ve been reflecting on the things that really matter -- including the support and understanding we get from friends and family. I'm writing to encourage you and others to financially support the work of grassroots organizations that create and cultivate community, including a group that is close to my heart, The Icarus Project.

Over the past 7 years, The Icarus Project has become a place of unity, safety and tremendous growth for those seeking a different perspective from the prevailing views around mental health. The Icarus Project is creating a new culture and language that resonates with our actual experiences, rather than trying to fit our lives into a conventional framework. The Icarus Project is a website community, support network, and media arts project created by and for people with mad gifts commonly labeled as “disorders”. Icarus is a place were we define for ourselves what madness is, honor our own experiences, discover what healing can be, and share what we have learned with others.

The Icarus Project needs the grassroots involvement of the community to continue the work. I’m asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to The Icarus Project on my behalf. You can design a monthly donation package or make a one-time donation in any amount by clicking here:

The support and vision of The Icarus Project are an important inspiration to me, and I hope that by joining together we can keep these vital grassroots communities alive and thriving.

Thank you!
