I read somewhere that depressed people actually have a more accurate picture of reality than happy people do. I'm having a hard time with deciding where I stand regarding objective reality. HA! says every single person on this site. There is no such thing!!

But

aren't some things more real than others?

There's a difference between the reality you experience during an "episode" when you can't function, and the one you experience when you can function.

So my question is,

Why is it that the "moment of clarity' is so wonderful,

and the "harsh light of reality' is so hard?

 which one is true?
