The Thing of Sorts?
Submitted by Deviant Behavior on Mon, 08/25/2008 - 8:54pmIt's the sort of thing that is commonly censored due to reprimands associated with illogicality. If you get enough people together canonizing something, then it's logical. If there are enough assholes out there claiming hypnotization/captivation of sorts, then it's called "cult" thought. (Any acceptance of thought reform would necessitate admission that the current ways are wayward. Remember, you're only reasonable if you're an ideological chameleon, and only rich people are allowed to instigate reform [of course, they have no reason to--unless they reflect for a second...but of course, "Why?" is on a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy]). Otherwise, it's "shared psychotic disorder," schizophrenia, or thought disorder. If people are willing to admit that they're drawn into it, then it's acceptable for it's "entertainment value" a la Alice in Wonderland. Because there's enough logicality mixed in that people are afraid of admitting what they don't understand and looking dumb. Or they really get caught up in non sequiturs. Course, follow that to real life, and you'll realize that advertising techniques are designed for fooling those who don't consider themselves fools. And the foolers are basically studying the sort of thing that, were it regularly followed, would amount to outsourcing.
