Dear friends,

Many of you have seen my piece in the new Icarus zine about nearly being hit by a Hummer at the corner of Tillary and Adams Streets in Brooklyn, as the cars speed in from the Brooklyn Bridge.

I walked by the same intersection today to find it swarming with cops. This is what my friend Katie and I found out:

At 2:55 pm today, a white male in his 40s was crossing WITH THE GREEN LIGHT when he was struck by a car. he was brought to Long Island hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

"He had a beautiful tattoo on his chest," said a baby-faced cop with a stricken look on his face. "A beautiful tattoo."

It's a war, friends, and we just took a hit.
