My body
Submitted by Liminal Kid on Thu, 07/09/2009 - 12:33amThis is my body. Here is how it works...it breaths, and moves, and shits and eats, it bends and rests, holds still or runs fast. It carries me to work each morning, self sustaining in constant motion. It hurts. It heals.
You can't always be welcome in this place, it is mine and mine alone, only to share with some people, for some times. When you look at my body, you will find it hard not to make judgements as all people do, but please remember, it is only a shell.
When you look at my body, black or white, man or woman, see past the shell. See only the workings, the breathing, the blood flowing in and out of ones vanes, see the passing of thoughts and emotions as the flow through the body, like droplets of rain, ripple a stream, smile at the body, and see the smile spreads across from your own to those before you. You have changed the body, you have lightened it.
Smile, and watch anothers kind eyes return to your gaze, this is all that matters. The body is temporary, the messages it receives fleeting, but the moment, the smile, the soul beneath is endless.
This is how I wish for you to see me. Look into my eyes, and see yourself.
