We have taken part in a myth that is older than us all. We are Persephone: we have descended to the underworld and eaten its fruit. We know we will descend again. We are Dionysus: We have taken part in the violence between men and women that in a greater sense represents the dichotomy between masculine and feminine that has cut every individual in half. We are Hecate: We live in the schism, the grayness in between, the outskirts of reality is the place where we are most free. We are Hermes: we travel so swiftly as to seem to be everywhere at once, illusion and trickery is often our only true defense. Some study myths, we live them.
