It is Spring 2006, 2 years after Sascha and Ashley self-published the first 1000 copies of this barely-proofread zine/book, threw them in the back of my truck, and launched into a guerrilla speaking tour of bookstores, infoshops, colleges, community centers, mental health clinics, and activist houses across the country. Looking back at how the Icarus Project has changed with fresh eyes and new perspectives, this is Ashley's Re-Introduction to the latest edition of the Navigating the Space reader.

las lecciones más importantes que hemos aprendido en Freedom Center y The
Icarus Project. No tiene la intención de persuadir a nadie de dejar de tomar
su medicación psiquiátrica, sino que apunta a educar a las personas sobre
sus opciones si deciden explorar la discontinuación.

Se incluye información sobre estabilizadores del ánimo, antipsicóticos,antidepresivos, drogas para tratar la ansiedad, riesgos, beneficios, herramientas para el bienestar, retiro, apoyo a personas que decidan
continuar con la medicación, una sección detalladas con recursos y mucho más.

Traducción a castellano por Agustina Vidal, de Buenos Aires Argentina, miembro de la Asamblea permanente de usuarios del sistema de salud mental.

La guía fue escrita por Will Hall, co-fundador de Freedom Center y co-coordinador de The Icarus Project, con el asesoramiento de 14 profesionales de  la salud, incluyendo enfermeras, médicos, psicólogos y acupunturistas, quienes orientaron la investigación. Más de 20 otros colaboradores del movimiento de sobrevivientes estuvieron involucrados en su desarrollo y edición.  A lo largo de la guía puedes encontrar fotos y arte, y una hermosa tapa con una pintura original de Ashley McNamara.
